Success of the band

D12 is one of the worldwide known and respected band. Eminem who was the first one from the band members to achieve success in his solo albums.His first single he recorded was an independent EP named THe Slim Shady EP in 1997. This helped him catch the attention of rapper/producer Dr Dre and Interscope CEO Jimmy IOvine.They quickly signed Eminem to Aftermath/Interscope.Eminem with the help of Dr Dre was making his first debut album.He insisted that he sign other members of D12 but Dr Dre suggested him to first establish himself in the industry and bring others . Eminem released his first debut in 1999 which quickly rose him to new world with super stardom. The Slim Shady LP was sold four million copies only in the United States. With theadvice and help of Dr Dre Eminem established himself in the industry as a solo rapper and for him his next goal was to gather his friends and take D12 to a next level. He created his own SHADY records under the interscope imprint . D12 was the first act to be signed to Shady/Interscope Records. After this D12 toured with Eminem like the anger management tour2005 and many others. D12 has released two successive albums "devil's night" and "D12 World" both of which were no. 1 on the Billboard music charts in the States and topped many other country charts."My band", " How come", "Fight music" were popular from these two albums.

How it started ..

Detroit MC Proof formed this group originally which later included others like Bizarre (Rufus Arthur Johnson), Eminem (Marshall Bruce Mathers III), Eye-Kyu, Bugz (Karnail Paul Pitts) Proof (DeShaun Dupree Holton) and Presto Genie (Preston Randell Huddleston II).D12 meant to form a band of a dozen of most talanted detroit rappers. But it was not easy to find a group of talented local rappers. So they faced a lot of problems in the begining.Many rappers who were affiliated to D12 at the begining left the band.Fuzz Scoota, Killa Hawk, B-Flat and Dirrty Ratt were some of them.

Proof ( Dirty Harry) ,Bizarre ( Peter S. Bizarre), Kuniva ( Hannz G. which later became Rondell Beene), Denaun ( Artis), Bugz ( Robert Beck) and Eminem ( Slim Shady).In the year od 1997/98 D12 started to gain reputations locally.Slowly but surely this group started its journey with a dream of being world's greatest hiphop artist's collaboration .
Apart from group performances members of D12 have gained worldwide reputations in singles.
